Too Fast and Furious

Tats tell a story
of wild scenes wrapped
around arms and leg,
anger and challenge in the doing,
with filched moola from
momma’s purse
and the pain of drawings on
precious body parts

not so hot being 13 and too
easy with boys & such
trying hard not to listen to your
momma nagging through
an ear-cuddling tooth

the thump of music chanting
away her views --

got to get a fast car, drink
a cool one or just sit here in the
middle of her dreams.
