equal to an
Olympic competition
leg pained
severe in the knee --
ligament damage replaced
by a wedge of arthritis

bone on top of bone
equals tears
and determination a new
slogan --
to the Post Office the prize.

Oh dear Richard- I am closer to 60 than 50 so I am no longer amoung the younger ones. But I did appreciate this poem.. atb ;)Pia

Hello Pia, older age can be comfortable, eh? The closer I get to 100, the younger I feel, is my new mantra. In my writing lately, I feel like an eagle, surveying my word kingdom, scooting about and noticing many of the little subjects once missed, and comforting them in the realm of my feathers. Richard
