in the softness of a field’s
pattern –
available to dry tongues
from the corner of the acreage
a deer bends
to drink -- rejoice
and when the clouds
gather across the western
sky –
rain trembles.

Richard, the quality of your
Richard, the quality of your 'eye' for taking natural observations and communicating them in beautifully poetic language is a real delight. That, alongside the sheer variety of themes (often spiritual) sets you apart. A beautiful poem for us here Richard. Thanks for sharing it.
Congratulations on the well deserved cherries by the way.
