During life’s journey we often
head into troubled
waters, drifting as a canoe
wind influencing direction.
The craftsmanship of
its hull endures pressure from
lake swells, our strength
tasked by J-strokes in its wake.
We got up early am; prepared
for the day, ate -- then off
to where the outdoors
challenged health, and skills.
Conjoining occurred between
a sleeve of nature’s flow
and man’s ambition, with
the screech of outdoor calling.
