When Feathers Collide

Bundles of feathery-blackbirds
throw fantasy into a frenzy
stubbornness driving them to feeders
in a staccato of determination
nibbling the only image leading.
Not long later they moved into
our senior’s neighbourhood
gathered their best flyers for
the journey -- tossed aside
all crows, with a raucous army
soon blossomed their territory.
Took apart two blocks of pigeons,
chased away sea gulls --
now able to pause and survey
their hard earned benefits.
