lion is on the roar. Used to wait
for ladies to come around
manners impeccable and he
was selective in the
choice of meat they proffered
side of buffalo his choice --
now he’s fed some old cow
no one wants – he who was
used to the finest from African
Plains. Where the grass
is free from citified fertilizers.
Vet visits – sheen of fur
diminished – legs weak from
lazy times. Roar
not so strong anymore.
