Winter Comes

Suffused with light white

crystals I claim avid curiosity

at a sudden change -- from

a kaleidoscope of coloured season

to a sweeping frosty chill

all this from a back porch where

Autumn remnants

huddle in clumps of colour

now caught up in air currents  

blown into a nether-land.

Its glory of leaves once rampant

caught up in a vagabond wind

weather changing its attire

as Autumn begins full withdrawal.
