Being British…                                      
I’m British by Law                                  
African by blood
She’s British by Blood
African by descendant
 
Waking up every morning to the BBC radio1 station reminds me everyday that this is not wat I call home
For her the sound of Chris Moyles on BBC radio1 makes her feel proud to be from this great nation
 
Walking down the street I’m seeing black stick with black, white stick with white…
But that’s not wat it’s supposed to be about
Growing up in this “British” society I hear the old folk say we are one, we shud unite but non of dat ever happens
 
Wat about the homeless, waving a red passport, 
Let down by a nation, 
More interested in the animals in this nation, 
When children are sleeping at railway stations.
No home or money,
The weather aint looking so sunny
so at night when the temperature drops and you’re tucked up in bed
These kids have nowhere to rest their head
Yearning for their mummies
To put food in their tummies
No such thing as Sunday roast
Just crusty left over toast
 
Please allow me to speak the truth a min….
You all look at me and think
Chaaaa she’s just some immigrate
Coming to England, living off the tax payers money
But boy cud you be anymore wrong,
I hardly ever get to see my ma’ that’s cz she’s always at working “saving lives” Some people sit back and complain that the foreigners are stealing all your jobs but truth is you can’t sit at home and expect the job to come to you.
 
Being British Means Complaining about the weather, whether it be hot or cold,
Living in a democracy, being able to have your say in what happens in your country Most of all freedom of speech, having the right to voice your opinion on what ever you like.
 
Being British means, having the freedom to make your own choices,
Remembering the people who have fought for our freedom,
Recognising that our nation is multicultural and has been for the past 2000yrs ,
Racism is a rank thing considering we are cross breed society 
The England defence league speak of racial purity, truth be told there is no purity here - we are in fact a mish mash.
