Life

Thinking about all the pain
that you left in my scattered brain
Makes my heart still
and my stomach twist
I have never felt this hopeless before
Now I know what it feels like
to lose something that you previously owned
Something that meant ‘everything’ to you.
You sulk
You cry
You hurt yourself and yet you feel no pain
You just become a living mess
But then slowly you heal
The sadness is overcome with grief
And eventually you feel nothing.
You stop caring
You get on with your life
While still holding onto that side
You work on other things in your life
To make it better and make it shine
It doesn’t matter to you about what they say or do
All you care about is how to get through
You keep trying
till you succeed
And eventually
You get rid of that grief
It clings onto you
now like a memory
Where you loved
and hated, the same person
at the same time.
