THE SANTA SECRET
A friendly old fellow is Santa
On his sleigh with Rudolf at a canter
To provide all the children with pressies
Under trees decorated and ready
Like a thief in the night
He’ll steal the delight
Of your efforts to fulfil your desire
To be the one your child will admire
When at the wrapping your child yanks
You know its not you that he thanks
For the scrimping and saving you’ve done
No gratitude or praise have you won
Just a whole in the bank that you fear
Will follow you around all the year
To keep up with the neighbours
Was a secret aim of your labours
So when the rush is all over
And your plans for next time are made
If you want your children’s favour
Consider what truths you’ve mislaid!
