There’s nothing wrong with you.
You’re absolutely perfect.
An artwork in miniature,
Your tiny feet, your buttercup fingers,
Your little whispers of creamy caramel hair.
No longer than three apples placed in a row,
As soft as tissue paper,
As tenuous as felt.
Your pink face, your painted-shut eyes,
The gurgle as your tiny lips blow bubbles.
You shine through Perspex like a miniaturized sun,
You glitter through the air to me,
And nothing about you could ever need to be any better.
Small. Early. As delicate as cobwebs.
There’s really nothing wrong with you.
Just. Tiny.

That's lovely. How early?
That's lovely. How early? They are beautful at all stages of development in the womb.
My daughter-in-law works with Special Baby-Care Unit fairly regularly, and was asked to give a talk for a few minutes to her daughter's reception class, so she took in such a tiny little knitted hat and nappy, for the prem babies, to show them how tiny they are sometimes at first. Rhiannon

This is a lovely poem.
This is a lovely poem.
In recent months I have become a grandfather twice so I can really relate to what you have written.
They do seem so tiny, don't they?
And I love your line... As delicate as cobwebs.
