Cervus Polaris

What is a mere mortal king of blood and bone to a deity of earth and sky? Cernunnos, Stag of the winter skies and the forest floor is no king.
Polaris, Stag of the north is the one true hart of the earth, the one true soul of the skies; ruler of the stellular and reigna of the tellurian.
No crown has been forged from the earth’s riches or assailant’s cruor to mark this deity’s reign; a god of forest and flame needs no jewel to mark his divine rule over earthbound and elysium province, this divinity is the wildwood embodied and the deep-wood incarnate, this divinity is the perished sidereal restored and the fallen astral resurrected. This is no king, but the elemental and the celestial in its purest form. This almighty knows that his crown is nothing sought from blood or gold but an old soul wrought from the heart of dying stars- the cores of cosmos on the verge of collapse, the centre of galaxies about to crumble- catastrophic supernovae and a young body ornamented from bones of barren pine forest- a deserted tangle of woodland, flesh of desolate tundra- ice so cold it burns all bound by veins that flow with searing ichorous.
Polaris, Stag of the north is the one true hart of the earth, the one true soul of the skies; ruler of the stellular and reigna of the tellurian.
He who wears a crown of ivory is a born king. He who wears a corona of antlers is a forged deity. Cernunnos, Stag of the winter skies and the forest floor is no king.

Interesting piece, Rosie
Interesting piece, Rosie Sumner. If it weren't for the necessity of a 0715 alarm, I'd be chasing this around the Internet. Fascinating.

Poetic prose, lots of interesting and engaging diction. 'A young body ornamented from bones of barren pine forest' - spectral images. Nice one.
