An Entity of Thirds

We appreciate imagineered metaphors and
love their mind-titillating cryptograms. Sometimes
sacred allegories are so utterly complex that solely
a monotheist theologian can dissect their formation
and that with a helping of intuitive contortions
of which few of us were bestowed at birth
except those with a skewed personality. I have
a nephew who at a time long past was convinced
half the people he knew and the other half he didn’t
were after him in one fashion or another.
I knew ingesting an excess of peculiar mushrooms
caused it and not as he claimed a surplus
of angels and gods. I reminded him he was no Moses
or Dostoyevski and that the voices he heard came
from his other spiritually inebriated selves.
Hearing this he crossed himself and said he lately felt
he was the holy trinity encompassed in one body
that possessed three souls.
That’s when I decided to slap two of them but first
asked him which two of the three had cheeks.
