Road Side

The radio was low, playing music neither of us was listening to. We were so excited to be on the road; finally we were going on that road trip we had been talking about for so long. However we were extremely disappointed that it had began to rain the day before we left and hadn't stopped.
"It'll stop soon." He was looking out the window up at the sky. "Ya, real soon." He had a sly smile, as if God had told him exactly when it would like it was a secret just for him. He rustled through the CDs and finally put Miles Davis on.
The music filled the car giving me goose bumps. Miles Davis had been the music he played the first time we made love and ever since then I could not hear it without feeling like a giggly little girl. As the first song came to an end he started getting jumpy, using everything in the car (including me) as part of his imaginary drum set. I must admit I loved it when he "played me." I felt like it somehow made me part of that magical vibration he always created with his music.
"Pull over, right here!"
I pulled over quickly slightly shocked by the urgency in his voice. He turned up the volume on the stereo to an explosive level.
"Get out"
"What?!"
He jumped out and ran over to my side of the car and pulled me out. There we stood in the rain while Miles played madly from our car.
He swung his arms around me and started dancing in the rain. Immediately I forgot that I was getting soaking wet. All I could feel was is arms around me and my heart began to follow the beat of his.
Our dance steps slowed and so did the music and so did the rain. Soon we were kissing in the sunlight.
