Memory Lane

Walking down that street we grew up on
The memories are fading but they aren't all gone
There are people that are waiting for me to write this song
I can't seem to put my life in words which is why its taking so long
The farther back I go
My tears start to flow
Then I find your hand on my shoulder
I realize what I should've known long ago
You'll always be there
No matter what life throws our way we won't be scared
God took you away from me way too soon and I was not prepared
The only thing I have from you besides your memories is your teddy bear
When I'm lonely at night
And I want you by my side
I look him in his eyes and ask him are you alright
Then I close my eyes
Hoping you'll be in my dreams tonight
You put your hand on my shoulder once again and hug me so tight
Letting me know that everything will be just fine
I wish you would wake up with me just one last time
I miss you so very much
And thats the bottom line

A very heartfelt poem, with a real feeling of loss. There are no easy answers to grief.
On a very practical level, it's a bit confusing for the reader to have all the categories ticked for story type. I would particularly be wary of ticking both 'Children's' and 'Erotica'. It's entirely up to you, of course, but readers might be a bit exasperated if they've expected to find a science fiction or horror story or poem.
