Turn Around

You have a name but I want to give you my last
You have my heart but to come into your life I need a boarding pass
I saw you coming out of that building and you walked right by me
I need your permission to put you in my family tree
Please turn around because I blew my opportunity
I want to love you forever and ever and ever even if its against the law
Yeah even if its unconstitutionally
Just please turn around so i can give you a hug
You came into my life as my antidepressant drug
Can we both go to starbucks and get coffee from one of their world famous mugs
Please turn around so I can tell you all of these corny jokes
Please turn around so you can meet my folks
Please turn around so I can make you mine
Please turn around so I can be on cloud nine

To turn around would be to
To turn around would be to take on such a responsibility, I think. I would hate to be someone's antidepressant. What if the drug stopped working? And who would be there to anti-depress me from listening to all those corny jokes? It all feels a little one sided, but that may be the point you are making, in which case, you did it well, and I enjoyed reading your poem.
