White cotton

Light reflects off white, cotton bed sheets
Having bled through coffee brown, roman blinds.
Heat trapped beneath the duvet,
A thin layer of sticky sweat lays across bare skin.
You whisper in my ear
'I don't think we could be any closer'
I wrap my arms so tight around you, vision blurs,
For a moment we are not our own.
Morning is starting to make it's exit
responsibilities, like mosquitos, bite.
One
more
moment,
Nothing exists outside these white cotton dreams.
