I took the pen

I took the pen
That filled those forms.
Marriage and divorce.
Then stood on a safe balcony
With a spring turned summer too quickly
Steam coming off the hill below
Swallowing the trees
The artisan fool replete.
The scene
Even the temperate scent was complete
And I rang to tell you in your Endinburgh garret.
Separate. Gagged by maybe the last moment of
Emotive 20’s. Passion led to an early demise.
The moment in a New Zealand forest
When I believed in the magic.
And realized you didn’t
And that
I‘d have to revisit
There
On my own terms
