The Ocean

Here I am sitting on the beach in Reddington, FL watching the waves roll in while my children build sand castles and search for sea shells. Even though I am definitely a land dweller I love being in the midst of such a great force as the ocean. This massive body of water, that Is full of life and adventure. This entity that has the power to create and destroy, to inspire and fill our hearts with wonder. What a beautiful sight this is to look towards the horizon and see absolutely nothing but the majesty of the ocean.
Earlier this morning I was wading out past the sandbar where the waves would break. I was deep enough to where the water was about shoulder hieght and the current was threatening to sweep my feet out from underneath me. I had to jump as hard as I could every time a wave would come my way just to keep my head above water; these waves were about two feet higher than my head. As these waves billowed over I started to pray and thank Olokun for allowing me to be apart of this wonderful part of the world and for allowing me to take in the mystical energy of the Atlantic. I feel revived, I feel renewed, I am in awe of such a great power.
My place has always been in the mountains and always will be, it is where I feel most at home and it was where I grew up (espeacially on Green Mountain in Huntsville, AL). However I love the ocean and try to visit as often as I can. I thank the Gods and Goddesses for this amazing and beautiful world we live in and I can't wait for another adventure.
