An Open Letter to Paul Ryan

Speaker Ryan, 

 
          You're a conservative man and I respect that, even if I don't always agree... but you're also a fellow Catholic and an American... and I'd entreat you to more credently consider President Trump's bi-partisan efforts. The level of partisan division in this nation simply isn't healthy... It's a mostly non-violent civil war, and one casualty of it is a legislature able to effectively legislate... the least of it to be sure. I'm not going to lecture you, but I can say that it would mean a lot to a lot of Americans, so many of whom voted for Trump, if you could consider a more bi-partisan approach to the questions facing this great nation.
