1.) Foreign policy) Reduce military spending currently at astronomical levels. Transfer military manpower to the Peace Corps and domestic infrastructure projects. Retract American claims to singular global leadership. Cease sanctions in breech of foreign sovereignty. End Cold War mentality and pursuits, including the persecution of the remaining Marxist states such as North Korea(although denuclearization should proceed ideally.)
2.) Domestic Policy: Sell sizeable fraction of Federal lands; Raise corporate tax rate to 25%: Institute a Universal Basic Income for all citizens. Re-open the asylums for the mentally ill with emphasis on safety, psychoanalysis, and low-structure therapies. Release nonviolent and drug offenders by the millions. Launch crusade to feed and house America. Launch infrastructure projects across the nation, repairing and replacing roads and bridges. Assemble a think tank to spearhead a deep-reaching reform of American medical culture: democratization and medical optimism should be the key terms of the day. Assemble funds to keep small American businesses alive through this artificial recession.
3.) Proposed Education Reforms : From the 7th grade up, we must emphasize understanding and conceptual learning as opposed to rote memorization, from History to Math to Science. For example, students should learn the intellectual underpinnings of the theory of evolution: as opposed to dissecting an octopus after having memorized each of a hundred parts. Additionally, from 2nd grade on, students should study chess, which is scientifically shown to improve math and reading skills
4.) Reconfigure our approaches to virus emphasizing human rights. Prior to the virus, we had systems of public hysteria in place in the press and other institutions, this hellish mass plague caused us to shut down commerce, democracy, and society in ways that will do permanent damage to all humanity. We and the European nations that did this did no better than Sweden, which did not shut down commerce and democracy. A plague is not a calling to abandon afflicted citizens; But to reconsider the whole direction of our U.S.A.. Our energy has turned toxic but that's all right; We needed ambitious and exciting reforms, a new cultural birth, a break with the old. This is what will get us back to public health.
