Purple Moon Haiku Set

A purple-locked 'Star'
climbed a bright yellow mega-snake
up to Xanadu

Vishnu looked on, and...
unimpressed, yawned, and swallowed
a high-tech planet

but it wasn't ours, so:
still, there lay the pop-star in
the heavens, quite nude....

and singing songs like
the Gods hadn't heard before,
not since Orpheus

So what were the powers
to do...  about this fairy tale
'come true' in this way

Vishnu wasn't sure; he kind
of liked her purrrr, thought he sensed
an ailment he could "cure"

Mars loved 'her music'
as did Ganesh, but this was
not the common view

No good woman would climb
to the clouds on a snake;
and so she must die

But as the daggers
were readied, the snake rose up
from the clouds enraged

His magic grounded Mars,
his hiss silenced Anubis
and none made a move,

while the music girl
re-mounted the yellow snake
and returned to "Earth...'

an island long cursed
due to Eden's 'sophist' serpent:
they lived on rare breaks

So Katie prayed and prayed
to great Ganesh, and he cooled
the sulfur puddles

and rats emerged
from every cave and hole
and Yellow Snake ate

After some lonely months,
he flew her over Hollywood
to a Ganesh Garden

where she was courted
though coyness was quite thwarted
and her eyes rolled in

to look at her soul.
Then the snake took her... back to
'the land of humans'
