Inspiration point
Man, you’re annoying me immensely.
Why do you keep nagging me for poetry?
Surely you have something else to get up to,
Instead of pestering me like you do?
I have a coffee meeting at nine
And you won’t let me go without a rhyme.
Seriously? Is it even worth the time?
Especially when your poetry is way better than mine!
Go get inspired by a butterfly;
God’s paint palate in the sky.
Or by a leafy summer’s tree,
In the dappled shade you see.
How about a cloudy sky up high,
With cushion’s stuffing floating by?
Or the incredible sight of birds in flight,
Wings spanning like a Spanish fan, so bright?
Or even watch the cars driving on the road;
Imagine them rockets jetting to their Mars abode.
See people, trying to keep from harm,
All just little ants in God’s ant farm.
See, you don’t need my poetry to go,
You only need look out of the window.
