My Angel, My Sleeping Beauty

My Angel, My Sleeping Beauty
I stood on the bottom stair
Hand on railing, gaze on her;
Unable to break my stare,
An angel asleep in her lounge chair.
I stopped; to sit right there,
Quietly watching her breathe;
Unable to break my stare;
An angel sleeping in her chair.
Her chest rose softly, taking in air,
Catching my breath in simple awe;
Unable to break my stare;
At my angel sleeping there.
A beauty to which none can compare,
Strength, softness, love so fair;
My love at which to stare,
My angel sleeping there.
So many years I’ve been blessed to share,
With my angel, my giver of care;
At an amazing woman I stare,
My angel asleep right there.
Everything has been worth it for this,
My frozen moment; sitting here: I stare.
One friend, wife, mother, daughter, sister…
One angel of beauty sleeping there.
ThankYou Lord for this wonder,
For all the blessings undeserved;
ThankYou for this angel,
And the grace of love returned.
