The result of vulnerable

It was so out of character for me
The blurring of personal and professional
An intertwined synergy moving me to risk
Opening me to the realms of vulnerability

Against the core of who I was
Energized by some external force
My meanings were all warped
My mind and soul divorced

My actions were incomprehensible
My words so unreal
Unprotected, assailable,
I was exposed, defenseless, weak

In taking that scary risk
Letting the fundamentals shift
The original blue print of me
Experienced a continental drift

Vulnerable.
Opened to damage and attack
It appears my heart got damaged
And its precious lock went snap

I need a new blueprint now
I need a new map
And if you have a bandage
My bleeding heart needs to be wrapped
