The Story of a Musical

Maria was a precious girl,
With a love for God and nature;
So she decided to become a nun
To express her love and rapture.

The nuns couldn’t handle her energy,
As a darling, a demon, a lamb.
She drove them all up the wall,
As a headache and an angel she sang.

The very clever Reverend Mother
Chose to send her out the nunnery,
To use her positive energy
To change the Vonn Trapp Family.

Throwing etiquette into the wind,
And bringing their souls back to life,
Maria reminded them how to sing
After having lost their mother and wife.

For the grand opening of the ball
Seven children showed Maria the dance;
Until their Dad stepped onto the floor
And Maria was Vonn Trapped in a trance.

Overwhelmed at her feelings within,
There on God’s errand and no other,
She left the children adieu to sing,
And ran home to the Reverend Mother.

The Mother’s reply was a song:
Climb every mountain,
Forge every stream,
Follow every rainbow,
Until you find your dream.

Maria went back to say goodbye,
So once again her heart could fly,
And under the starry sky,
The Lord showed her the why.

A story of love in a hopeless place,
Even World War 2 could not erase,
And their hearts were blessed forever,
With The Sound of Music together.
