Today, we open Free

Today, we open Free
The dawning of a new day,
With sunlit rainbow rays,
Gracing the clouds to say:
“Today!”
Today we heal.
Today we unfasten the pain
and unlock the strained gates – to release.
To flood forgiveness
Across the plains
Of hurting history.
As the dawn unfolds its light,
Hope fills the gaping holes:
Of fear,
Of suffering,
Of shame,
To open the grieving child’s heart,
Releasing the pain,
Of what could have been;
To dream of what could be.
Today we heal.
In the sunlight of honesty.
In the sincerity of truth.
In the emptying of clouds
As they rain the release –
Tears of peace.
As rays of warmth extend out,
The yearning for self-care
Is exposed
Is confronted
Is healed.
Openly released,
Vulnerably held,
Undisguised;
Fatigue sets all free.
Today:
Liberation from negativity.
Self-love sets all free.
Today I heal.
Today I choose to open
My heart to The Light,
The natural lights
Of all that is good
and willing to love
and be loved.
Today, I open myself:
To Free.
