The courtship was long ago
When you first cast your spell
Through those pages of poetry
And your ever-charming smile

The wedding is but a photo now
I look hypnotized by you
All I see is fascination,
And fear, in my eyes so blue

The children are born and gone
I must have been addicted to us
As I look back on those moments
I can’t believe I survived all the fuss

Our midlife crises came and went
Despite arguments through the years
Disagreements and compromise
Living through so many hopes and fears

Now we’ve found our rocking chairs
My hand softly rests in yours
Still blessed with magic in our lives
