The Comet

I peered into the night, the star-encrusted dark
And around me the land lay enshrouded in mist
Frost glistened coldly. reflecting the spark
Of icy fire that might have hissed
If I had stood on a distant, lonely world
And been so close as to hear its passing
But somewhere you lie in dreams safely curled
While the comet is fading and day is coming
If you were by me I would hear the stars laughing
Clouds would sing floating in dawn's dark blue
I'd hear the grass beneath me gasping
Drenched in droplets of bitter-freezing dew
I would hear the rising sun whooping with glee
If you were here and watching with me.

Touching&Really enjouable :)
Hi Shieldsley. I hope your well.
I really enjoyed this and I really felt I were beside you,Brilliant .
Two subjects that interest me, and you combined them beautifully, I may be wrong and sorry if I am, but I felt your poem was about someone you loved and could no longer be with, maybe not you personally but in the poem.
My favourite bit was this:
'If you were by me I would hear the stars laughing
Clouds would sing floating in dawn's dark blue
I'd hear the grass beneath me gasping
Drenched in droplets of bitter-freezing dew
I would hear the rising sun whooping with glee
If you were here and watching with me.'
Take care
