Scotty Shrimp spies a rock
Then quickly hides behind it
The big stout tuna on Scotty’s trail
Wants I think a shrimp tail!

Scotty Shrimp held his breath
And found that he could float
Once he saw dead fish and crabs
Get tossed out of a boat.

Scotty’s mom kept swimming by
She and her new crush
Scotty waved every time
Which made the boyfriend blush.

All was quiet and all had fed
Now it was time for bed
Scotty slept in blue-white shorts,
Same ones he wore for sports.

The ocean’s current tossed them all
In the August squall
Scotty prayed and held on tight
His mom yelled, “Scotty, fight!”

Scotty Shrimp rides the waves
As billows rise and fall
He promised not to venture far
Soon his mom will call.

Scotty Shrimp’s birthday cake
Is made from tasty hake
With 30 fins and 15 eyes—
It’s baked underwater, far from flies.

Scotty Shrimp’s dad disappeared
One fine rainy day
Scotty and mom called and called
Then deduced he’d left the bay.
