I know that you have suffered
Felt abandoned, shoved aside
I know you have felt the solitary nights
To be endless as if they were trans-world flights
I know you listen for that familiar voice
And look for the owner of fleeting shadows
I know you cry out when there are no ears
Or eyes present these remaining years
I know you ask, "Why me, why me?
Every hour of each passing night and day
I know you envy old friends and brothers
Who live not your loneliness, your life turned gray
I know that you have suffered
Felt abandoned, shoved aside
I know in your mind there is peace and war
For now I know that you live
Those good-bad times of yore.
