Chapter 3
The fight between a pair of elves and a demon from the abyss began. An intense battle where there was no other choice than to kill or be killed. This was a battle between Shu and Holly and a mid-level demon, Frit. The Frit family of fire demons is the direct followers of the Ifrit family, which are the rulers of the fire realm of the Abyss. To challenge a Rit, the low-level demon of the fire realm, requires at least one, maybe two, high-class adventurers to defeat. So anyone can guess at the power of a mid or high-level demon.
The left wall was completely smashed by the pressure of the Frit swinging his clawed hand at Shu. Shu jumped up and over the demon, barely dodging the powerful pressure of the heated air flying toward the wall. As he landed behind Frit, he pulled out his dual blades, forming an X-shaped slash. As he done this, Holly chanted a spell in the back, “Crush those who oppose me, Luz Penetra!” Beams of light shot down straight for the vital organs of the giant beast. As the beams flared, the demon jumped to the right, avoiding major damage from the blades of Shu, but took several piercing wounds from the beams.
As Frit turned to face Shu, he turned his gaze to Holly. “It seems the reason for the dual brat is to keep me distracted so the girl can cast her spells… Heh… I am really enjoying the challenge, I hope y’all can keep me entertained longer!” As Frit said this, a collection of flames started swirling around the whole room, causing Holly to be forced to move inwards. By the time Shu charged in, the whole room was almost completely enveloped in flames, the exit being completely closed off.
“Damn, this is already becoming more of a pain than I expected. Holly, try to keep your distance without getting close to those flames!” Holly nodded as Shu continued slashing at the Demon, while dodging wild flames flying at him due to the Demon’s powers.
Suddenly, Shu pulled back his blades and jumped away from the demon. “Huh, What are you doing… don’t tell me you’re already getting afraid?” Frit stared at Shu, wondering if there was a reason that he jumped back like that. Suddenly, he found out why.
“Free the chains of light and shine upon thee the punishment of angels, Salvación Divina!” As Holly yelled this, an immense amount of light flared the whole room, not only distinguishing the fire, but also slamming against the Frit with tremendous power. The ground trembled with the pressure while the Frit was slammed to the ground. By the time the power vanished, the demon was in a crater in the ground.
As Shu was about to make sure the job was finished, a sudden tremble like an earthquake spread throughout the whole cave. “Awe crap, the place is about to collapse, Holly RUN!” They both sprinted for the now open exit, trying to get out before they got squashed. As they ran, they heard what seemed to be a horrendous roar of death. Shu looked behind him to see what seemed to be lava flowing toward them at a high speed. “Holly, run faster damn it!” They both sped up as they ran for the exit.
Shu could feel the heat of the lava radiating on his back. His shirt was starting to melt into his back as they continued to run. Damn it, only if I had enough time to cast an earth spell, I could probably close it in. After they took the next turn, the exit became visible. Suddenly the walls started closing in due to the immense energy being pressed all around the land. They both jumped out and to the sides right before the entrance collapsed to the ground as rubble.
They both fell to the ground when they found out that the lava was sealed in. They were breathing heavily and Holly turned to look at Shu’s back. “Though your shirt started to melt into your skin, you surprisingly have little third degree burns, just mostly first and second degree burns. I can heal those at least.”
She started to cast her healing spell on his back when a sudden roar erupted from the ground. It was the same roar Shu heard when they were running. “WHERE THE HELL DO Y’ALL THINK YOU’RE GOING! I AM GOING TO SLAUGHTER THE TWO OF YOU AND MAKE YOU SUFFER AN INTOLERABLE DEATH!” In an instant, the demon erupted from the ground, causing a giant tremor. Holly was both slashed and slam to the ground by the claws of the demonic beast, Frit.
Shu jumped up and turned to look at Holly. But, before he got the chance to look, he sensed a cold feeling of death oozing from where the demon was. He immediately turned to look at the demon, just in time to jump and avoid a direct hit from the demon. “Holly! Answer me! Are you okay?” Shu shouted, while avoiding the hits of the beast.
He feared the worst has happened, and was ready to go on a rampage. But then he heard a reply. “Ye-yes, *cough* I am alright I think. He injected venom in me and caused some burns, but I had a barrier casted on me, so I don’t have any major wounds. So I only got to get the venom out.”
Shu sighed in relief, knowing his sister was okay to an extent and will at least survive. “Okay then, I need you to get out of the East Wiflor plains… I am going to release my power now that we’re in the opening.” Holly looked shocked at what he said, but just nodded and started to move away, but ignoring his demand to leave entirely. The beast went to attack her, but suddenly Shu was instantly in front of him again. The demon looked at him in puzzlement as Holly got away safely. “Look you oversized wuss, I am your only opponent now, and now I hope you can entertain me like we entertained you.”
Suddenly the tables were turned. A Frit, whose flames are said to reach the heat of the Beldra’s core, was now on the defensive. “What the hell is this? I can’t be at such a disadvantage to a mere mortal!” Yelled the demon as the same two swords from earlier were slashing him. But they were different now. What seemed to be pure white light radiated from the left blade while a flame of darkness radiated off the other. They swirled around the blade like they were trying to escape the physical objects and reveal their true form. The power the demon sensed from Shu and his blades were so immense, that he wondered if Shu was truly just an elf.
What the demon didn’t know was that Shu wasn’t just any kind of elf, but a rare breed of elves called a Light Elf. Light Elves are said to be the closest of the elves to reach the powers of Aven. What he did know was that no matter what, there should be no way for someone to use the power of darkness and light like Shu was right now. It was unnatural and not meant to happen. That’s when the Frit thought of something. “The blades have powers stored in them…” the idea of storing powers in items, making them magical items, was a rare thing that gives it’s wielders the capability to use powers they could naturally not use.
Shu jumped up while his left blade turned a light blue. “Judge he who defies Zeus and punish thee accordingly, Barra Lóstrego.” As he finished the enchantment, sudden sparks encircled his body then enveloped his blades. As if by controlling gravity, Shu shot down and amputated the arms of the demon with ease. As the demon roared in agony, Shu instantly followed up with another enchantment. “Freeze thee who defies Boreas, as punishment of accordance, Tempestade De Xeo!” As Shu stabbed the beast in the heart, a small rain of ice spears came down upon the demon's body.
The demon collapsed to the ground, somehow barely breathing. “Heh, so I really did lose to a mortal and his weapon. And I been in this body for so long, I can’t go back to the Abyss freely. So if you’re going to kill me, hurry and get it over with mortal. It takes the simple task of cutting my head off” The demon stared at Shu, waiting for the finishing blow.
Shu put his blade to the throat of the demon. The demon bid his farewell, and what sounded like the noise of metal tearing tissue was heard.
But Shu didn’t cut the head of the Hugter’s body off. Instead, he stabbed his blade of light back into the heart of the demon. “Return thee from whence he originated. Bring him to the realm he reign supreme…” As he said these words, a crack appeared in his sword and what seemed to be light radiated out of it.
The demon looked in shock at what Shu was doing. He was so surprised at what was going on, that he never once said another word to Shu. The last thing he did in the body of the Hugter was smile before being forced out. The enchantment that Shu casted on the beast was called a return spell. It’s a spell that only Angels and Light Elves could use. It safely brings the spirit of the fallen back to the realm where it came from.
As Shu looked down at the limp body of the Hugter, he smiled. “I wonder what the demonic bastard is thinking in the Abyss right now.” As he said this, he turned around and started heading toward the direction of Valveyer. “Guess it’s time to go catch up to Holly… man these burns do sting like a bitch.” He reached Holly about fifteen minutes later, resting by the spot where she saw the beautiful flowers on the trail. After she healed his wounds and told him she removed her venom, they both headed back to the town to get their reward. Luckily, the demon was weakened already due to the fact that he was inside a hugter… if it was his true form, we would’ve lost that fight for sure…

There was some great action
There was some great action in this chapter and i loved the magic you produced. I'm glad that Shu didn't cut the head off the Hugter, but that the demon is now where he belongs.
Seems Shu and Holly will soon be rich.
Looking forward to reading more.
Jenny.
