April seems aeons away;
Blooms of daffodils a-blaze.
Chilly winds make one long for
Drowsy dog-days...
Effervescent evenings,
Fizzy with flitting fireflies...
Gazing all the way up to
Heaven’s amazing,
Incandescent backdrop of
Jewel-filled skies.
Keeping lovers occupied,
Lustfully spooning;
Moon-watching –
Nonstop, till dawn breaks
Over dew-damp
Pink-tinged rooftops;
Quickening each heart’s
Relentless beating.
Sweet Mary in bud...
Singing
To all with ears to listen
Unheeding; until...
Vainglories fade,
When calendars proclaim
Xanadu is gone, and golden
Yellow days of summer
Zoom away.

It's a very vibrant poem; action packed, full of speed, energy, color and transient beauty; full of life moving quickly which represents well the theme of brevity and the ephemeral nature of things. The alphabetical structure of the poem also lends itself well to the idea of brevity (I think) like a sort of alphabetical countdown and so I think it's a good use of the IP.
