Fall is the season of mellowing and missing
Pistachio poplars have mourned themselves bronze...
A sprinkling of stars slip their tethers and listen
Elegies of a season of mellowing and missing...
The moon, palely, rises...still counting her blessings
Fledglings have flown now it’s time to move on
Fall is the season of mellowing and missing
Pistachio poplars have mourned themselves bronze

Such are the words in this poem, that they have a soothing effect on me.

I particularly liked that
I particularly liked that first line, too. It seemed to have a soothing, musical feel to it, as well as apt thought in the words. Poplars do seem to lose their leaves early, don't they? Rhiannon
