Albeit unwittingly, he taught me many things...
to be grateful for being able to leap 
out of bed at will...put on my own shoes
and socks...wash, and dress myself...put
a letter in an envelope in a few seconds flat...
drink a cup of tea without spilling half of it
in the saucer...sit at my p.c. ...type a story, at least a few
of the words clustering into some kind of meaning.
 
Grateful for nights, much like the one just gone; hardly
love’s young dream – not  anymore, but curving, 
over and under, each into each in the quavering light –
a candle on the sill.  Grateful, as the skin of the evening
splits, that...in its dying moments, even in the dark,  I
am able to bring us both to that special place; the place
where Parkinson’s has no dominion.

Reading this poem Tina,  brings back the importance of good health and how as humans we can never take anything for granted.

They say love heart conquers all and that's so true as in your poem.

I read this the other day and thought it brilliant but I was feeling too brain dead to come up with a decent comment, probably can't now but I did want to say this is a beautiful piece of writing it made me very sad but I love the ending very much, a little piquant shot of quiet and tender-not happiness exactly- but almost
