Your hand in mine –
a fist tightly curled.
My thumb – you clung to
and I hungered
to tell the world.
Your hand I took
on your first pony ride...
at the gates
of the school
for the very first time...
Your hand they held...
the hand of a nurse;
a hand deft at healing
the sick and infirm.
Hands helped dry
all the tears you cried;
hands, bent on prayer,
that last, long night...
Whispered,
'Hold my hand, please,
whilst I drift off to sleep...
never to know,
that you ever let go.'

Such a lovely image, the hand held. Makes me feel the small hands in mine from days gone by. Really touching.

So much captured in the
So much captured in the picture of the hand, and its symbol of contact. Holding and glad to be held, warmly and tightly. Giving and receiveing. Rhiannon

These few tender, carefully chosen words convey such powerful depth of feeling, they strike right to the heart. I am deeply moved.
