Chosen Ones In the Beginning

An introduction for those that haven't read the Chosen Ones.

This is the story of how it all came about:- Dedicated to all the dreamers out there. All dreams are possible. May be this is a true story. It could have already happened, or maybe it hasn't happened yet.

It all began here on our earth. Many years into the future, when humans were convinced that if they looked after the earth, they would be safe, that human life would always remain in tact.

Sadly a great plague covered the entire earth, it was so widespread and highly contagious, happening very fast, there was no vaccine to save human life.

However...long before this plague had appeared, the Chosen Ones had been kept in isolation tanks called pods and frozen in time.

They were monitored by scientists who made sure they were suspended in sleep, until such a time that they would be needed to either regenerate the earth, or travel to a far distant planet, where they
would reform a new society into which man could live again.

Space travel had been established, many galaxies had been travelled. The scientists had discovered that many planets produced water and air, similar to that on earth. And so it was, that the Chosen Ones had woken from their slumbers and kept in isolation, until they were strong enough to travel.

They were dedicated to their field of skill and held in great esteem, you could say they were treated as royalty by their peers.

There were ten Chosen Ones, five men and five women. Their skills were many and varied, there was a doctor – scientist – astronomer – pilot – soldier – space traveller – deep sea diver – professor of chemistry and a computer analyst.

When finally the day came for them to leave, they felt sad for the people they would be leaving behind, but knew there was nothing they could do to save them.

The best they could do, was to look to the future and think of the new generations to come.

The planet they were travelling too, was five thousand light years away, know as Obsidian. It had an abundance of the crystal on its surface, as well as many other crystals too. Although not entirely like the old earth, it gave them water and all the necessary elements to survive.

Eventually however a new earth was discovered, this earth was exactly the same as the old earth, though slightly smaller. Every so often the people of Obsidian would travel to the new world to
check if it was habitable.

Millions of years passed, eventually the new earth was forming well. Everything was just right. A group of around fifty people were delivered to the new earth, wherethere families became known as  the Chosen Ones.
