Golden Days By Golden Pond

Eleanor sits with husband Albert on the terrace by Golden Pond both enjoying their breakfast while bright sun shone all around, he eats golden cornflakes, she prefers runny honey on her toast. They live down Amber lane where crystals hang in window pane, golden rays catch each prism of light that floats around so bright.
Eleanor goes out for a morning walk with Luna her golden retriever, she chases a ball in the park, time flies and her dog needs a breather. She sits for a while and Eleanor thinks of their three coin wishes for good health, second to cross the San Francisco Golden Bridge, while Albert would prefer to tour up and down Australia's Gold Coast.
Now with lead on Luna, Eleanor stops to ask the time, man with a gold watch on says it's half past nine. On her way back she stops off at the shop to buy some golden daffodils for they brighten up her home. Each person she meets Eleanor wears a golden smile for this is her golden wedding anniversary, with Albert at dinner she'll celebrate.
Albert enjoys a drink down at the Golden Fleece, it's peaceful at lunchtimes, silence is golden just how he likes it sometimes. But now they've come together wearing gold wedding rings, for their favourite meal of cod cooked in golden breadcrumbs with crispy golden chips, washed down with refreshing glasses of golden pints of lager.
In the evening when crackling golden flames from fire grow higher, Eleanor in gold satin nightie and Albert in his gold dressing gown, they'll ponder on their granddaughter gemma in golden photo frame, remember fond memories of Christmas times past, eating chocolate gold covered coins from decorated tree while Grandma reads a story.
Gemma's favourite tale of all time is the one about the Goose who lays a golden egg. Then before the sun goes down Gemma sings her favourite song which is the Stranglers Golden Brown to Luna the dog. Then slips beneath the golden quilt, three wishes on her mind, throw three coins into Grandad's golden pond in the hope that they come true.

You've certainly had a lot of fun with gathering up your 'golden' words! I wondered whether it was real coins or gold-covered chocolate coins they were throwing in to the pond! Which would cost the most? though neither could buy the wishes! Rhiannon

This is a gold nugget of a tale, Jenny but I can only give 23 rather than 24 carats because of a tiny typo: it should be golden pints of 'lager' and not 'larger'.

Absolutely top notch!
Absolutely top notch! Extremely well crafted and fun. I like the almost hidden rhymes at the beginning. This is one of the best IPs this week. LOVED it.

I'm very pleased everyone's enjoyed the Inspiration point so much this week - it's been a pleasure to read the results, and this one has a wonderfully maximalist approach - a cherry red well done to you Jenny!
