Hope In The Distance

Peering from
behind lace curtains,
maintaining steps
into serenity,
marooned here
with canvas,
brushes, paint,
some attention to detail,
excitement pulsates
as colours applied,
no more my pallor
of stagnant pond,
barricades come down,
a creek dwells where
streams can flow freely,
born out of shades of hue.
Now! Take imaginary
walk down that open road
gazing into the beyond;
contemplate silence,
faith has traveled
those languid country
landscapes, where
curious seekers ramble,
feathered clouds
floating me away
to distant hills,
where air is dulcet,
and misty peaks
bathe in purity of
nature's vivid,
lively ruddiness.
Below! This
immense collage
of corn, wheat
and rapeseed,
stretches vast expanse
of downs where moments
gallop fast like wild horses,
towards this hope that's awoken.

so beautiful -
a painter poem so beautifully paints itself a scene, and another - faith, to a freedom to wander onwards, really lovely writing. Enjoyed:)

I'd love to be able to paint
I'd love to be able to paint scenes remembered, but the memories do enable the imagination to re-walk, and create other such scenes to enjoy. Rhiannon

Oh! I remember how this felt!
Oh! I remember how this felt! You describe it so well!
"...as colours applied,
no more my pallor
of stagnant pond,
barricades come down,"
Also love :
"moments / gallop fast like wild horses,"
Wonderful account of the urgency and positive oomph that takes over when you get into painting!
