It's Only Words

Words don't come easy,
I could sit waiting
for a signal to snake
its way into my mind,
coated from discussions
or illusions...but reluctant
to stay,
subjects circle faster
difficult to hold on to,
my hoovered brain has
only cobwebs and dust
clogging any thoughts
from getting through,
yet still I ponder
half asleep in hope
of some rousing
stimulation before
sleep is upon me.

only you could write a
only you could write a thoughtful poem which works really well about being too tired from houseworek to write a poem!

I hope you don't wake up
I hope you don't wake up suddenly with a clear thought formed only to fall asleep and forget it! We all have such struggles at times, and usually I have to leave worrying about it, or write down something like it to pick up later! Rhiannon

It happens to all of us,
It happens to all of us, Jenny. It is generally referred to as 'writer's block' and every time I read that description I imagine a drain pipe that needs unblocking. It might be that tiredness may be the cause but I discount that theory and just think that we can't have ideas on tap and that the brain is devoid of inspiration. You sum it up brilliantly with the following lines:
my hoovered brain has
only cobwebs and dust
clogging any thoughts
from getting through,
Luigi xx

I really empathise with this
I really empathise with this Jenny. I've just come out of a period of 'block' - it's horrible when every word is even more of a struggle than usual. I always tried to do even a short period of 'free writing' every day. Although pretty much all of what came out was rubbish, it did make me feel that I was at least shaking the feather duster at the cobwebs, even if I wasn't able to clear them away as yet.

House work is horrible! You
House work is horrible! You need trees and the rhythm of walking - if that's still not possible my partner has just started doing Kundalini yoga and says (and I think it is too) that it's helping him a lot? He has limmited mobility but it's still making him feel much lighter inside? Is Kundalini a kind of yoga you have tried?
