Life At The Top

Its so very hard this life at the top, just as you make it you no you could flop. Fame and fortune come together, but so do the hangers on, your real friends who once were have now long gone.you see your face in the paper, you can't believe its you so many things need doing and to your body too. A tuck here, a tuck there, a lift to make everything right, when its all over you smile with delight. So its to the stage and your heart beats faster, the adrenaline is running the nerves are the master. As you hear your name called out, you see your fans scream and shout! You open your mouth and start to sing, it sounds pretty good that song you wrote called "My little Fling." So soon the shows over you take a bow, its on the next gig so tired now. So many cities have come and gone, its hard to remember the last one you were on. One day in Paris the next in Rome, India, China, London and so on..... You talk to your partner and text him at home, he sounds a bit different like he's not alone. You read next day's paper and discover the truth, he's having an affair with a girl called Ruth. She's nobody really just someone he's met in a nightclub in London he took her to bed. I'm shocked and saddened to read this news, but decide he's not going to give me the blues. There's plenty more guys out there who are flirty, there's one I like but no chance he's thiry. I'm only eighteen so there's plenty of time, I'll settle down when I'm twenty nine. Until then I'll keep on singing my fans keep me dreaming. I like to sing country music, but my agent said stop! "If you want to make it, you have to play pop." Oh it really is hard this life at the top.

Is this a poem? Interesting way you put it together. Yeah, I went way back for this one, huh?
