Sultry Days And Nights

In coolness
Of night
I sit alone
With eyes
Shut tight,
Imagine
Submerging
In pool of
Sparkling
Cool water,
Palms cup
Each clear,
Sun drenched
Flickering
Ripple.
Beside me on
Concrete step,
A long tall flute
Of fresh orange
Juicy and sweet,
Ice cubes tinkle
Sides of glass
While sipping
This refreshing
Experience,
Savouring
Every drop,
Sensations
Dance on
My tongue,
Sometimes I picture
Palm trees creating
A cooling breeze,
Mixed with sounds of
Waves lapping shore,
As water
From fountain
Trickles through
Darkness echoing
In my imagination.

Can you dream it in the hot
Can you dream it in the hot day-time, Jenny? Vivid description of the combination of the touch and taste of the cool drink, combined with the sounds of fountain, breeze and sea. Cooling thoughts! Rhiannon
