Dear diary...31st March 2020.
Earth Angels fight
an invisible war
that comes to
knock at their door,
from behind a mask
they who are healers,
exhausted...concerned
for dying sick,
sleeping in silence
their only respite,
wading through
hours of weeping pain,
with no real line of defense,
battle marches on. But know
that we are thinking of you
from the safety of our homes.
We as poets retreat into our
imagination, myself reviewing
exploration, propelled into
blessing N.H.S each night.

Indeed, Jenny. We owe them
Indeed, Jenny. We owe them so much. And all the shop workers and delivery drivers and refuse collectors and all the other people who actually keep us going. So grateful to them all. Let's hope the gratitude translates into better wages and working conditions when all this is over.

This is lovely tribute, Jenny
This is lovely tribute, Jenny. As airyfairy said, I hope that at least all this will lead to a renewed appreciation of key workers and all the kindness of neighbours and volunteers. Rachel :)

It must be very hard helping
It must be very hard helping when your patients aren't recovering, but gentleness and care must still be appreciated. I hope they have some feeling of reward and encouragement that they are making a difference and doing what they can, even though so tired and with their own fears. They need our prayers as well as our thanks. Rhiannon
