Solar Hopping (Scrapped)

Preface:
I finally turned my phone off after hours of playing Fast Ball 2, an addicting game that I had downloaded on my phone a few days before. I went out into the living room, where my mother was sleeping on our leather couch, and quickly used the restroom. After I was done, I decided to sleep on the old, light green recliner that sat in front of the television. Once I had dropped my pillow, blanket, and stuffed lamb (fake) on the chair and had tucked myself in, I looked around and tried not to allow my eyes to make me see things. When my mother got up to use the restroom after me, I said a quick prayer for a nice lady who had recently passed (also the lady who gave me the stuffed lamb), hoping that she had made it to Heaven safely. Finally after my mom had turned out the bathroom light and was snoring softly on the couch again, I looked around some more. I noticed a red light floating around next to a footstool that matched the other recliner sitting next to the one I was on. I just dismissed it –or did my best to, anyways- telling myself that it was either Grandpa or my guardian, knowing that it was not a piece of glitter. I finally decided to just close my eyes and go to sleep, instead of pondering on whether or not a man was really sitting on the recliner next to me.
After a few seconds, I opened my eyes again to my dog barking. She had scared the crap out of me. My mom stirred on the couch, pulling the covers over her head to try and block the annoying barking out. Athena raced across the living room until she was barking at a window. I groaned and sat up.
“Thena,” I moaned, “there’s no one there!” I stood and patted her lightly on the top of her head and added a, “Shut up.”
Finally, after about five more seconds of barking, she growled at the wind, curled up, and sooner or later, started snoring very loudly. She's such a pretty dog, so loving, but why she barks so much is a mystery to my family and I.
I closed my eyes and thought of a few things before sleep pulled over me, engulfing me in a sea of black. It was then that I was sent into dreamland to visit many solar systems not known to man, with weirdly shaped, brightly colored planets that each had their own stupid laws. I was sent solar hopping, a fun journey that had included my two dogs, Deuce and Theana, and my ten year old cousin, Kevin.
