All in a Day’s Work
Supermarket domination
Fools a bargain hunting population
Selling nature’s goodness by the pound
The salt and sugar keeps us round
Two for one it’s quite a deal
Fast food fills the trolley
We are the ad man’s easiest steal
And the big stores chosen folly
There is no price reduction
It’s a psychological ploy
It’s a hypnotist’s injunction
We’re now the retailer’s favourite toy
And it’s all
In a day’s work
For those in ties and shirts
Lying is the new tai chi
The profits never get hurt
And the feverish desire
To move in for the kill
Was to open an instore surgery
To treat those who think their ill
The symptoms diagnosed today
To those that scared themselves
Was obesity and heart disease
and other things found on the shelves.
