Sooner or later, you have to accept it. That all those people in your life who've put you down, who've triumphed over you and proved you wrong. Who've goaded and humiliated you, and bested you in an argument. Who've fed your psychosis and turned you to drink and worse as a way of coping and as a way of escape. Who've picked your reasoning to pieces in front of you and tossed them back in your face. Who've crushed you underfoot like an ant. You have to accept that you will never prevail over these people. You won't even come close. Retaliation is futile. It will fail. All you'll do is perpetuate the hurt and the anger and the sorrow in yourself. Any satisfaction gained will be brief. It will pass.
The way you learn to live with it is by saying to yourself that nobody has the answers. Nobody has the monopoly on the truth ' not the priests, the politicians, the teachers, the tyrants, the philosophers. None of them ' especially the priests and politicians. No one is right. Everyone is wrong.
The only person who's right, in the end, is yourself. And even you're wrong some of the time.
You have to accept it. And when you do ' then you can start to live.
