heights

it is strange the feeling,
the one you get at heights.
irrational is the word.
vertigo,
that is another.

pointless,
justified,
self-fulfilling, obvious, foolish…

heart poundingly all encompassing.

i do not know why.
why would i fall?
i do not know why…

and I didn’t last time,
or the time before that.

but maybe this is the time.
maybe this is the time i fall…

or jump.
that is a worry too.
