Maya collapsed in front of everyone in the math class.
The teacher, Mr. Abate, quickly walked over to her.
Her pulse was faint, and she was barely breathing.
"Someone call 911!"
Shouted the teacher.
Rayna was the one who called them on her mobile phone.
The school nurse was performing mouth to mouth resuscitation on her, but it did little to help.
Rayna just stood there in shock.
"I've lost her pulse!"
Shouted Mr. Abate.
Just then, Alexsander Antonov ran into the room.
"Move away everyone, please."
He shouted, and he bent down beside Maya.
He began performing mouth to mouth resuscitation on her while doing chest compressions.
Rayna was stunned at what she was witnessing.
He was able to keep her breathing long enough for the paramedics to arrive.
Maya was taken by helicopter to nearby Grazia Salvifica Hospital.
Rayna immediately called her parents, and told them what happened.
They were both on their way there.
Rayna had no way of getting to the hospital, and was offered a ride there from Mr. Antonov.
Under better circumstances, she would have been jumping for joy.
Now she feared that her sister may not make it.
The ride there was a quiet one.
His vehicle smelled new.
It was a new Honda Civic Sedan that was dark red in color.
The Interior was done in dark Grey.
"I'm sure your sister is going to be fine."
Said the professor.
"Where did you learn to do that?"
Asked Rayna.
"Do what?"
"Save Maya."
"I once was a Doctor years ago, but it wasn't for me."
"You went through all those years of medical school when you weren't sure?"
"I was sure when I was in medical school.
It wasn't until I had graduated that I realized that it wasn't for me."
"What do you think is wrong with her?
She seemed perfectly fine just minutes earlier."
Well, I'm not 100% sure, but my best guess is that she was poisoned.
Based on how fast it affected her, I would say it was Cyanide."
"Is there a cure for that?"
"Yes there is, but the Doctors will have to work fast.
Cyanide has been known to kill in only 20 seconds."
Rayna slowly shook her head in disbelief to what he said.
"Rayna, listen to me.
It is not written in stone that your sister will die.
You must have faith that she will make it through this."
She couldn't believe that he was actually comforting her.
A short time later, they had arrived at the hospital.
Alexsander wanted to go in, but felt it wasn't his place, even though he may have saved Maya's life.
"Thank you so much for the ride, and for helping Maya."
"You're welcome.
I will pray for your sister's recovery."
He got back into his vehicle, and drove away.
Rayna immediately ran into the hospital, ran up to the admission desk, and asked for her sister.
A nurse showed Rayna to where she was at.
She looked into the room to see many Doctors and nurses around Maya.
They all looked worried, and worked on her frantically.
"Please, come with me."
A nurse told Rayna.
"I want to stay with my sister."
she insisted.
The nurse gently touched her arm, and lead her the waiting room.
Twelve minutes later, she saw her parents at the admission desk asking about Maya, but everyone was too busy to help her.
"Mom, Dad."
Rayna shouted while quickly running up to them.
"Where's Maya?"
Shouted Antanas.
Rayna took them to where they were working on Maya.
Mariya placed her right hand over her mouth as tears began to fall from her eyes.
"I don't understand this, Rayna.
Tell me again exactly what happened."
Said Antanas.
"Math class was about to start, and I noticed that Maya was not there.
I quickly went looking for her, and a saw her arguing with her boyfriend, Brent.
I decided to mind my own business, and return to class.
A few minutes later, Maya stepped into the room, and just collapsed.
I don't know anything else."
"Why didn't you call us as soon as it happened?"
"Everything happened so quickly, and I was in shock.
I called 911, and you two immediately after.
The dispatcher wouldn't let me hang up the phone until the paramedics were almost there.
I'm the one who told her that I had to call my parents."
"How long did you wait to call for help?"
"I called them as soon as it happened.
It took them a few minutes to get there.
Two teachers, and the school nurse were with her, trying to keep her breathing.
"Had anyone come out to tell you anything?"
"No."
Antanas ran into the room, and started asking a Doctor questions.
He was told to leave, but refused.
Security was forced to remove him from the room.
