Detective Broz immediately called in the forensic team to look for evidence in the van. Blood and hair was found that belonged to Lenka, Juraj, Dijana and Koloman. This along with other evidence collected elsewhere was enough to make an arrest.
Dijana was still missing, and everyone feared the worst.
Koloman was held without bail in a Valle Pacifica jail cell.
Several weeks later, Dijana was still missing, and Koloman's trial had begun. The evidence was overwhelming.
He plead not guilty. Defense argued that Lenka simply got fed up with him, took the children and ran away. She probably met a nice man who agreed to take them in, and he murdered them. Koloman was worth a lot of money, and had friends in high place, but they were of little help in this case.
What seemed to bother people most about him is his apathy towards the whole situation. Not once was he seen grieving for his family. He was often seen smiling and laughing.

Koloman Zita was found guilty of the murders of his wife Lenka and son Juraj. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He was sent to a maximum security prison.

Being locked up seemed to have no affect on Koloman, who was heard on several occasions making comments like,
"I sure am glad that she and those brats are dead. I would rather spend the rest of my life in prison than to go on living life the way it was before they died."
He was often asked why he didn't just leave his wife.
He never answered that question.
The town organized a candlelight vigil for Lenka and Juraj, and prayed for Dijana.
That was nineteen years ago, and Dijana was never found.
The town of Valle Pacifica remained a peaceful, serene town until now...
