I Know the Truth Now

I see you standing there in the dark, wondering if you can see me.
Everyone knows your name, but nobody believes me.
They say you're just dream, or a nightmare in disguise.
But I know that you are real, my instincts never lie.
"Please show yourself!" I called out before the sun scared you away.
"I'll always be there for you." is what you used to say.
If you are just a dream than why are you so real?
If you're not what you seem than how come you can feel the burn of the sun dancing on your face.
I know you're alive 'cause you can make my heart race.
Please make yourself known, be the star of the show.
A star that shines so bright, it glistens and glows.
I saw you watching me alone in the night, but you disappeared when I turned on the light.
This may have confirmed my deepest fear. A voice from the shadows says, "Come over here."
The truth as I knew it was sealed in a kiss.
The truth is I know now that you do not exist.
How could you trick me? How could I allow you to betray me? But I know the truth now.
